Free ORWARN Functional Exercise - Thursday, November 7, 2019 - Eugene Water & Electric Board

Do you ever worry that you won’t have what you really need to respond to a water or wastewater emergency? ORWARN helps water and wastewater utilities locate emergency assistance in the form of personnel, equipment, materials and services.

Event Description: ORWARN is hosting a free U.S. EPA-sponsored communication-based functional exercise (FE) for water and wastewater owners and operators, emergency management staff, and response partners from local, state and federal agencies. The FE will provide an opportunity for participants to test their emergency response capabilities, specifically but not limited to: communications, resource management, documentation and mutual aid and assistance during an incident affecting water and wastewater utilities.

This FE is open to ORWARN member utilities and non-member utilities, as well as response partners (e.g., emergency management, healthcare facilities) that are interested in learning more about water sector mutual aid. FE participants can choose to participate in-person or remotely from their normal place of work.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs): An application will be made for Oregon water and wastewater operators to earn CEUs toward their license renewal requirements for their participation in the FE. Get Exercise flyer.
